Some oldies from 2017. Looking back, it was an important year for my development as a photographer -- I gained more confidence, I learned more about the technical side of things, and I got into developing my own film.

post for the day, this is a print that I did just yesterday of my "Towhee Perched" image. It's an 11"x14" gold toned salt print on Hahnemühle Platinum Rag.

Pixel Shift is a feature of the Mavica disk cameras. I just need to move the whole camera.

6 IR Trichrome photostitch.
Urth 720nm filter + Cokin Green and Blue filters.

I always get a lot of questions about my salt prints from other photographers, this is a video I put together a while ago showing the process from start to finish: youtu.be/4-Q-a-fAYFE

My process has changed a little bit bit since then but you can get some more information about it in the description and in the comments.

for today is yet *another* salt print (surprising I know!) This one is of a hummingbird portrait.

One before I get on the road. Taken this past January with my Rittreck 5x7 and Portra 160. #believeinfilm

This is my photography project that some of you may know, entitled Photosynthesis in which I blend plant textures and human silhouettes through double exposures. It's been the focus of most of my photographic work for the last two years and is done entirely in-camera with black and white film (usually Ilford FP4+). Expect to see more images from this series and some of its offshoots here in the coming weeks / months. #believeinfilm #doubleexposure

Happy Sunday! Here’s a lovely calm portrait to see the weekend out.

This was one of the trickier plates to make on the project because my mobile darkroom was parked a fair way from the station, so I had to scurry through the cobbled alleyways.
