For the holiday, a thread on how to befriend crows.

--

Befriending crows is a wonderful thing.

I have many crow friends at home and at work. They bring joy at unexpected moments and can rescue a miserable day even without shaking down the dust of snow that Robert Frost described.

This thread is an updated version of one I posted at the bird site in July 2019.

@iamdesertpaul @tangybirch Blurb has a pretty easy-to-use software with templates. You just have to learn the terminology ("bleed", "gutter" etc).

Or it could be a great way to involve design friends, other photographers, and other artists who do have those skills, in exchange for some pages.

I've done it both ways and they both work.

My biggest fear about doing a book is that I won’t be happy with it. So I just don’t do them. That’s healthy, right?

Sharing a favourite portrait of mine. Megan photographed at The Flour Mill in March.

I have a little collection of utility pole "portraits", something about the old weathered wood and little bits and bobs attached to them tickles me. I took this one today while testing out a new Olympus 100mm that is supposed to be good for infrared, which it seems to be.

Been slowly drumming up support for a One More Stop half frame challenge, so revisiting some half frame shots before I got rid of the camera that took these.

Ran into a light dust storm while out exploring. Unfortunately the photo doesn’t show the blowing sand that well!

What’s your favorite photograph that was taken by someone else this year?
For me it’s @ci@social.lol and this photo:

I'm think I might run out of prints before the end of but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. This is a 11"x14" gold toned salted paper print titled "Reaching Flowers"

If you don’t like Yucca and sunsets, I don’t want to know you.
