@nucleo Thank you, much appreciated. I exposed to ensure some detail in all but the deepest shadows. HP5 is not a particularly high contrast film so some tweaking was required during processing to selectively boost the contrast where required. This would explain why the effect of the red filter is a little muted. My aim was to produce a photograph that is close to what I saw.
